MERV 8 pleated HVAC air filter with test data showing airflow resistance, particle capture efficiency, and performance results

Synthetic Pocket Bag Filters

Pocket-style filters built with synthetic, depth-loading media. Available in standard and extra‑durable constructions, with options for multiple pocket counts, depths, and rigid pocket variants. Designs emphasize low resistance, high dust-holding capacity, and even loading across the pockets.

Key Characteristics

  • MERV options typically include 11–15 (by model and build).
  • Moisture‑resistant synthetic media; does not support microbial growth.
  • Optional features: welded media, pocket separators/bands, adhesives over stitch lines, and gasketing.
  • Typical recommended final resistance: 1.0" w.g. (models vary).
  • Common temperature rating: up to 150 °F for pocket types; up to 70 °C for rigid pocket types.

Standard Synthetic Pocket (Ultrasonic‑Welded)

Synthetic media with layered melt‑blown polypropylene and a non‑shed backing. Pockets are formed by a patented ultrasonic welding process (no stitch holes), with ribbon separators to promote uniform airflow and loading across each pocket.

Extra‑Durable Synthetic Pocket

Heavy, durable synthetic media with robust stitching and adhesive‑sealed stitch lines for high‑abuse applications. Designed to resist tearing and remain functional across the filter life; suitable for high humidity environments.

Rigid Synthetic Pocket (Selected Types)

Rigid pocket variants use self‑supporting welded pockets with injection‑molded or PU headers. Progressive‑density synthetic media provides high dust‑holding capacity and low pressure drop. Suitable for high humidity and turbulent airstreams.
